The Indian football team held Portuguese third division team GDR Monsanto goalless in their last outing and finished unbeaten on their tour of Portugal. The draw was significant as star striker Baichung Bhutia, who scored four goals in the last two games, did not take the field due to a minor injury. Besides, India played most of the match without striker Sunil Chetri, who was substituted in the first half.
In the opening match of the tour, India drew with Portuguese second division side Odivelas FC 1-1 and then registered a 3-2 victory over Portugese third division side AC Marinhense, followed by convincing 3-0 victory over third division side Recreativo Agueda at the Estadio Municipal in Lisbon on Sunday.
