Brazil’s ruthless victory (3-0) against old rivals Argentina to win the Copa America for the second time in a row, has helped moved them back to the top of FIFA’s world rankings. Argentina also moved up to 2nd place, with World Cup Champions Italy slipping to 3rd place.
Brazil were knocked off top spot in January, having previously led the rankings for an uninterrupted run of more than four years.
The recent flurry of matches on the American continent has also helped Mexico to move up by 16 places to 10th off the back of their appearance in the Gold Cup final and the semi-finals of the Copa America.
The other prominent changes are Croatia entry into Top 10, climbing from 11th to 7th place. While England and Czech have both slipped out to Top 10. England dropped to 12th place from 8th place and Czech fell one place to 11th place.
