10 Heroes of "60 years of Independent India"
August 14th, 2007
On the occasion of Sixtieth year of Independent India, Outlook, an Indian Business Magazine has released a list of Sixty Great Indians in 60 years of our Republic. The list is picked by three eminent jury B.G. Verghese, Mushirul Hasan and Mukul Kesavan. I am bit disappointed by the fact that Mushirul Hasan thinks Sardar Patel doesn't deserve a place in "Sixty Great Indians". Sardar Patel is one of the name which I will always keep on top, considering his contribution towards the integration of "Republic of India". Here is my list of 10 Great Indians of Independent India. Sardar Patel Indira Gandhi Homi Jahangir Bhabha Narayan Murthy JRD Tata Raj Kapoor Kapil Dev Balbir Singh ...

Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar on koffee with Karan
August 14th, 2007
Alright! Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar were gorgeous, most comfortable and lovely couple on Koffee with Karan so far. I mean I have seen “the” most ideal couple Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan on Rendevous with Simi Garewal, and they looked like two strange and unfamiliar people sharing a same stage. To me, they never looked like a happily married couple. Whereas I got more than I expected from Shabana and Javed Akhtar. They were so funny and real on the show. I had always thought Shabana and Javed as a very seriuous couple, but they proved it wrong. Giving tips on a successful marriage, they seemed like a complete marriage institute. I loved the way Javed expressed his views on two people into a married ...

Hey Salman! Please forgive Vivek
August 13th, 2007
I think Salman should forgive Vivek Oberoi. Vivek was so cute at the 10th Rajiv Gandhi Awards function held at the Jamshed Bhabha Theatre, NCPA. For the readers who doesn't know, Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty are the two bollywood personalities among 10 people who were presented the Rajiv Gandhi Awards for achievements in their chosen fields. Vivek was on stage, and had just finished performing to Beedi Jalaile with Koena Mitra when on his way out, he stopped before Salman (seated on the front row) and suddenly, without warning, put his hands together and bowed before him. Vivek grabbed his ears and bowed and mouthed 'bhai'. Come on Salman! Please forgive Vivek let bygones be bygones, its true that he was love ...

Formula One Chief Ecclestone keen to buy Arsenal
August 11th, 2007
Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone has once again expressed his interest in buying London based Premier League club Arsenal. The 76-year-old billionaire vaguely discussed the possibility of an Arsenal bid on July 21 at the European Grand Prix in Germany. The British billionaire, who effectively controls F1 auto racing, says he would bid to buy the Gunners if the current owners — who are already resisting takeover plans from American real estate businessman Stan Kroenke â€” decided to sell. The Arsenal directors are reluctant to let the club become the latest Premier League team to fall into foreign ownership and have resisted Kroenke's (12.2% shareholder)  attempts to increase his shareholding. Dein's support for Kroenke's plans was one of the reasons he left ...

August 10th, 2007
Sherlyn Chopra, aka Meghna, aka Mona Chopra, desperate to get rid of the "sleazy actress" tag, is disturbed with the images of porn stars/escort girls on the website of her name. In a bid to sort out the issue, Sheryln Chopra successfully traced the owner of the website, who is Pankaj Gupta, and tried in vain to dissuade him from maintaining the website. “I called and requested him to amicably hand over the unlawfully acquired domain name to me. He refused and threatened he would not budge even if I approached the police,” says Sherlyn. Sherlyn Chopra says Pankaj is a resident of Anand Vihar (Delhi) and runs an escort site under the name of ‘Westhaven’ and ‘West Haven Services’ on the internet forum, Digital ...

Windows Live Folders Renamed to Skydrive
August 9th, 2007
The code name shuffle of Microsoft. Microsoft's long-rumored online storage offering which has been in beta for a little while, has once again changed it name. Originally code-named Live Drive, it became Live Folders and today got its final name, Windows Live SkyDrive. Microsoft's Live strategy has always been confusing.  Live Vs not-Live in Microsoft's array of online services is still not clear to me. Recently they changed the name of their next Windows operating system as well, originally code-named Windows Blackcomb, which became Vienna and now Windows 7. There is also a significant update to the service, extending the basic functionality that was criticised somewhat at the start of the initial beta. New features include: Drag and drop ...
