Homemade remedies for Lips
- Moisturise your skin with shea butter every night, before going to bed.
- After brushing your teeth, gently brush your lips as well. This will exfoliate them and get rid of chapping, and will also plump up your lips temporarily.
- A dab of honey on your lips will act as a humectants and draw moisture from the air into your skin, thereby keeping your lips soft, plump and kissable.
Mint & cocoa butter lip balm
Ingredients:
Mix coconut oil (1 tbsp), cocoa butter (1 tbsp), mint puree (1 tbsp), almond oil (1 tbsp), Vitamin E oil (¼ tbsp) and cocoa powder or chocolate pieces Method: Put all the ingredients in a bowl, also add 3 tablespoons of water to it and let the mixture melt in the oven. This may take 5-7 minutes, now refrigerate it for an hour and then apply it on your lips.
Sugar Lip Scrub
This scrub is a natural exfoliate and is suitable for sensitive lips. In a bowl, mix two tbsp of brown sugar and a few drops of olive oil. Then, add ½ tbsp of honey and mix well. Refrigerate the mixture for five minutes and use the scrub gently on your lips. Wash it off with warm water.
Lemon coconut oil lip balm
Ingredients:
Lemon oil (1 tbsp), coconut oil (1 tbsp), sunflower oil (2 tbsp), beeswax (2 tbsp)
Method: Heat all the ingredients except the essential oil for ten minutes in an oven, later add the lemon oil and refrigerate. Apply on your lips once it cools.
Rose Petal Balm
Soak rose petals in milk for a few hours. Mash it and apply it on your lips, let it dry for 15-20 minutes and then wash it off. The rose acts as a natural skin lightening tool and leaves your lips hydrated.
