“Rangeela†girl Urmila Matondkar is back after a long gap with same sex appeal and excellent dancing skills. She is one of the best dancing actresses we have after Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit. Well she is also good at acting, but I like her dancing skills more.
The strangest thing is, that she is back with her favourite director Ram Gopal Verma after a long-long gap, he was the one who introduced her as a sexy cute innocent girl in Rangeela. And then there were rumours that they are in a relation and after some time they split.
They are back together in Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag, although only in a video.
Urmila will do some sexy moves in the item number Mehbooba Mehbooba, choreographed, directed and composed by choreographer-singer Ganesh Hegde. Mehbooba has been sung by Sunidhi Chauhan, Sukhwinder Singh and Sudesh Bhonsle.
Dancing on screen super hit item number “Mehbooba…” from “Sholay” is going to be challenge, says Urmila Matondkar, who pays a tribute to yesteryear dancing queen Helen in the remake of the 1970s blockbuster. Our main priority was to ensure that it wasn’t identical to the original number, both in terms of the sound and the look. The mood we have created is very different. It’s not a remix but quite a techno sound.â€
Manish Malhotra is the man behind the look and styling of the song. Says the actress, “I wasn’t nervous during the shoot, but I was nervous during discussions for the costume and look. The intention was not to ape Helen so it was different and very challenging. I play a modern performer against a jungle backdrop, where an arms deal is taking place. The entire feel is eerie.â€
Thank God Urmila is doing totally different song and dance moves for this Mahbooba song, unlike Mallika Sherawat in Aap Ka Surroor (same dress like Helen).
