Tony Blair in Bollywood Movie "Global Cool"

June 11th, 2007

Speculation has been rife as to what British Prime Minister Tony Blair is going to do when he steps down from office later this month. Nobody would have predicted that he would try his luck in Bollywood. That’s right, the PM has made his movie debut in a short film “Global Cool” about climate change awareness, which is directed by Bollywood filmmaker Shekhar Kapur.

In between the many legs of his global farewall tour, the PM took time to do a cameo role in this climate change baiting short film which was premiered as a part of IIFA Awards hosted in Yorkshire.

Mr Tony Blair said,

I’ve been preparing for this role for the last 10 years. It was great to be part of Global Cool. But remember, I was only one of a billion people saving the planet in this movie – and they are all stars.

In addition to appearing alongside Hollywood sirens Sienna Miller (Factory Girl, Layer Cake, Alfie) and Heather Graham (The Guru, Austin Powers), Tony took direction from acclaimed Golden Globe nominee Shekhar Kapur, and saddled up for the making of this movie with the Big B of Bollywood Mr Amitabh Bachchan.

Tony Blair may get the Academy award like Mr Al Gore(ex politician) who got it for the contribution towards global warming.
