Penelope Cruz in Disney Dream portrait by Annie Leibovitz

March 4th, 2011

Hollywood stars including Penelope Cruz and Jeff Bridges have been given a magical makeover by world famous photographer Annie Leibovitz in a new campaign for Disney Parks. A string of stars feature in the Disney Dream portraits, giving an extra Hollywood sparkle to the children’s classics to promote the park.

Star photographer Annie Leibovitz, who went bankrupt in 2009, has been working on the campaign for Disney Parks. The campaign will premiere as a special insert in the April issues of O – The Oprah Magazine, People En Español, Real Simple, Essence, and InStyle as well as the March 28 issue of People.

Disney fans were given their first taste of the photographs yesterday when the Disney Parks blog posted a virtually unrecognisable photo of Wilde preparing for the shoot by getting her make-up done.

The photographer has also used celebrities such as David Beckham, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez and Scarlett Johansson, who donned glass slippers to play Cinderella.

Speaking about the photographs, Leibovitz said: ‘We started by looking at the classic stories – Snow White, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan.

The 36-year-old Cruz is seen wearing Belle’s gorgeous yellow gown and being lifted high into the air by her prince, played by Jeff Bridges, in the shot entitled A Tale As Old As Time.

Alec Baldwin can be spotted as the Spirit in the Magic Mirror from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, while Queen Latifah plays the evil sea witch Ursula from The Little Mermaid.
