Meena Barot, the Olympic 2008 torchbearer
Posted By :Sheetal
Remember this post! Yes! Our Meena Barot (36) made it through online votes. She was selected to carry the torch on Monday, July 7 in the Chinese city of Lanzhou in Gansu. Just a day before the relay, Barot received instructions along with the 296 runners who were to run on the day. Barot was the eleventh runner in the relay. The torchbearers were allowed to keep the torches that they ran with. She shared her experience: I did not feel the weight of the torch at all; all the enthusiasm and excitement made it feel light. As I held the torch, I saw the crowd on both sides of the road. I hadn't experienced the thrill of the moment that ...

"Mukesh Ambani" World’s richest man
Posted By :Sheetal
Few months back it was Mexican business magnate Carlos Slim Helu, who was richer then American software czar Bill Gates and now it’s our Mukesh Ambani, Wow! He has surpassed everybody in the world to be on the top of Billionaires list. Following a strong share price rally on in his three group companies, India's most valued firm Reliance Industries, Reliance Petroleum and Reliance Industrial Infrastructure, the net worth of Mukesh Ambani rose to $63.2 billion (Rs 2,49,108 crore). In comparison, the net worth of both Gates and Slim is estimated to be slightly lower at around $62.29 billion each, with Slim leading among the two by a narrow margin. While most of Mittal's wealth comes from his steel empire, ...

Women Panties for Peace in Burma
Posted By :Sheetal
Women in several countries have begun sending their panties to Myanmar embassies in a culturally insulting gesture of protest against the brutal crackdown as a part of "Panties for Peace" campaign. The Lanna Action for Burma organized the action dubbed "Panties for Peace" campaign and started sending and delivering the panties this week, and has requested all the women to post post, deliver or fling your panties at the closest Burmese Embassy. The group, Lanna Action for Burma, says the country's superstitious generals, especially junta leader General Than Shwe, also believe that contact with women's underwear saps them of power. The group said the campaign is a chance for women to take away the power of the ...

Salman Khan is 2008 wax statue at London
Posted By :Sheetal
I am not sure but the rumours are that our Salman Khan is been selected for 2008 Bollywood celebrity wax statue at London’s Madame Tussauds. I still have my doubts because there are no updates on Madame Tussauds website. Anyway I am very happy for Salman Khan. All the people who voted for him must be very happy to see their super star next to Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Shah Rukh Khan. Reports suggest that the wax statue will be ready for display by January 2008 and Salman will personally go to London to unveil the statue. Bobby Khan, who is in-charge of the Bollywood gallery at the museum, has already spoken to Salman Khan. A formal letter is on ...

Posted By :Sheetal
OK, let’s help our four Indians, now living in China, Meena Barot (35), Prithviraj P (40), Vipul Joshi (27) and Senthil Nachiappan (37), to become Olympic torchbearers for the Beijing Olympics at the opening ceremony of the games, from August 8 to 24, 2008. Atleast one of them should hold the Torch on behalf of each and every India. The contest Expats for Olympic Torchbearers is organised by Lenovo, a personal computer manufacturer. The advertisement says: Lenovo Group along with China Daily will launch the Lenovo-sponsored Olympic torchbearer nominee selection among foreigners living in China, in an effort to seek people who embody the Olympic spirit of constant exploration and striving for ...

Joke of the day – Shilpa Shetty arrested!!!
Posted By :Sheetal
Yes it’s a joke, how we Indians portray ourselves in modern world with a very open minded attitude. Where we appreciate a women talking about Aids (Shilpa Shetty) in a huge gathering of truck drivers, and on other hand we try to pull her down and insult her by calling her an uncultured Indian, whereas its not her fault if she was kissed (on cheeks) by Richard Gere. Is she not already embarrassed enough by that kiss? We really are a bunch of hypocrites. Shilpa Shetty shed tears after being stopped at Mumbai Airport by immigration officials who had no record of a Supreme Court ruling which overturned a ban on her leaving the country. They said she was still wanted ...

Singer Manohar Shetty
Posted By :Sheetal
Call me ignorant but I am really shocked to learn that my favourite songs were sung by Manohar Shetty, 34 and I don’t know much about him (sorry Mr. Shetty), may be because we only focus on some big name singers. I loved the album composed by Aadesh Shrivastav “Humko Ishq Ne Mara”. Manohar Shetty sang the title song and two tracks “Jadoo Hai Naya” and “Aap Se Pyaar Hai”. I still remember how I used to listen the song “Jadoo Hai Naya” again and again. He also gave his voice to Jimmy Shergill and Jugal Hansraj in the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Mohabbatein for songs “Chalte Chalte” and “Ankhen khule ho yaa band”. It’s sad to know that his younger ...

Gitanjali Nagpal, Robert Stuempfl and Arthur – A Family
Posted By :Sheetal
Today I was very busy preparing and convincing Robert Stuempfl for an interview with news channels. I nearly spent my whole day replying emails and talking to the news channels and people who wanted to know more about Robert and were in a condition to help him. During my chat with Robert I got some more information about Geetanjali. Not much but yeah he told me that Arthur (their son) was born in Nepal where he was working on Safe drinking water development Project. He had to leave Nepal when Maoist rebels attacked Kathmandu. He decided to go back to Germany with his family (son and Geetanjali) especially for the safety of his son Arthur but Geetanjali couldn’t go ...

Husband Robert and Son Arthur are waiting for Geetanjali Nagpal
Posted By :Sheetal
On 4th of September, I posted an article on former model Gitanjali Nagpal whose news were flashing on most of the leading Indian News Channels. At the time of posting, I never thought that her husband would contact me for help to get in touch with Gitanjali. But this morning, I was shocked to see the email of Robert Stuempfl who claimed to be the husband of Gitanjali Nagpal. Ofcourse it was very difficult for me to believe, so I asked him to show me some proof of being Gitanjali's German husband. Trust me when he sent me the photos of him and his son, I was stunned to see that the little boy in picture has got the looks of his ...
